The place is perfect if you don't require alcohol with your meal. Good food, pretty restaurant, quiet (but annoyingly repetitive) music, good service, and moderate price. What's not to like?

It used to be on Rockville Pike, and Just moved recently to this new location. Parking is free for the first two hours. We all liked the food, but the service was soso, most of times we had to try to get their attention. It was nicely decorated with Uyghur themed pictures, hats, and other items, it was colorful and peaceful. We ordered: 4*Kathlama Naan: thin and crispy. Cooked with butter. 4*Home Made Laghman: the homemade noodles were al dente. Very good texture. 4*Eggplant Salad: fresh, light and dark sauce. 3*Lamb Shank: it was good, but it was a bit dry. The flavor was light. I had much better ones . 5*Uyghur Lamb Kebab: very good, tender and flavorful.

Uyghurs are one of China's 55 officially recognized ethnic minorities. There are only 15000 (estimated) in the US. I have only recently been made aware of this group due to the alleged persecution they are undergoing in China and the discussion around that. Today was our celebrating Father's Day with our daughter and son-in- law so I chose a food I have never had. This is an amazing fusion of Asian and Turkish food traditions. Lamb and noodles. Today we started with Baba Ghanosh & Cucumber salad. Both recommended by others Yelp Elite members. Our main meal was Kordak, Pulao Lamb and Khanna lamb kebab to share with 4 peiple. An amazing meal and great service.

This review is solely based on carryout.. thanks uber eats! LOL Pros -The FOOD is absolutely delicious. Served beautifully, hot, and fresh! -My kids loved the cucumber salad. They are huge cucumber fans and the light seasoning/dressing was a perfect touch for them -The eggplant salad was one of the biggest hits for the adults. When everyone took their first bite, their eyes just lit up, and all you hear was OMG! The homemade dressing and the way the eggplant was prepared is indescribable. -Chicken plate w/flat noodles was stuffed with chicken and potatoes! The noodles (being a carb whore) were my favorite part with the spice level. Unfortunately, the spice was too much for the kiddos, and the weak. LOL -The beef in the Khazan beef kebab was tender and flavorful -Chicken korma was the kids favorites.. can't go wrong with this one if you have picky eaters My brother recommended this place and I'm now eager to visit them in person for a sit down dining experience!

We got takeout and ordered Laghman noodles with beef, lamb Khazan, Uyghur salad, eggplant salad, and an order of Samsa. We both really liked the Laghman noodles with beef. The noodles were perfectly done - perfect consistency - and with just a tiny bit of chewiness. In fact all the dishes were tasty and flavorful. Prices were appropriate...Although a couple of the appetizers were a bit pricier than I would have expected, i.e. Samsa and eggplant salad. The other dishes were appropriately priced, I felt.

Since Eerkins reopened on North Washington street we decided to visit (missed their great food). The food and tea menu is pretty much the same, and some of the interior decor from the last location made it to this one. We opted for an order of beef samsa (appetizer), lamb kabob with cold spicy noodles and gam bian soman. For dessert we had the chocolate honey cake. Everything was top notch and flavorful. Service was gracious and on pointe.

First time trying Uyghur food. My mom and I enjoyed everything. We had a nice conversation of the many years of visiting the restaurant when it was formerly chopsticks. Tip- They have a separate menu for Tea's. Free refills on most and they do hot/cold. You will enjoy them! The menu is similar to Silk Road with an Asian twist. The flavors are more Chinese without being Chinese. The lamb chops, kebabs, hand pulled noodles, and steamed whole fish were excellent. The owners did great with the decorating and the staff was very friendly. I will be back soon to try the many other dishes on their menu. I was so full from the generous portions that I forgot about the desserts. Easy 5/5 stars!
